Hank G. Hess, Sr., age 81, of Poughkeepsie, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at River Valley Care Center of Poughkeepsie, NY. Hank was born October 14, 1935 in the Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Henry A. and the late Eleanor (Vroom) Hess. He married Nancy Speck in January 1996 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie, New York.

Hank was a graduate of St. Peter's School in Poughkeepsie and a graduate of the class of 1953 of Poughkeepsie High School.

He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He retired from Danbury Printing And Litho as a Color Forman in 2000. Hank also was employed at Western Publishing before moving to Connecticut.

Hank was a member of the Elks Club Lodge 967 in Connecticut, were he was a Exulted Ruler, American Legion Post 1302 and he was also inducted to the Dutchess County Hall of Fame Fast Pitch Softball in 1990.

Hank is survived by his son Timothy Hess and his wife Gail of North Carolina, his daughter Susan Baltmiskis of North Carolina, his daughter Laura Sachs of North Carolina and his daughter Anne Marie Hess of Connecticut. Hank is also survived by his brother Gerald Hess and his wife Carol of Hyde Park, NY, sister Lorraine DelSanto of Kerhonkson, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held 1pm to 5pm Sunday October 30, 2016 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral services will be held 10am Monday October 31, 2016 at St. Mary's Church Poughkeepsie, New York . Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with Military Services.
