Agnes C. Fitzmaurice, age 82, of Chestertown, Maryland , died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at her daughters home in Centreville, Maryland. Agnes was born November 6, 1933 in the Bronx, NY. She is the daughter of the late James and the late Agnes (McGinn) McGrath. She married Edward F Fitzmaurice on May 16, 1954 in Bronx, NY. She was retired from Vassar College where she worked as a Payroll Clerk in the Comptroller's office.
She is survived by her beloved family, husband: Edward F Fitzmaurice, Chestertown, MD, her three daughters: Denise Fitzmaurice and her companion Marc Matyseck of Centreville, MD, Theresa Fitzmaurice, Janine Fitzmaurice of Poughkeepsie, NY, her two sons: Edward J. Fitzmaurice(Marie) of Hyde Park, NY, James Fitzmaurice (Kourtney)of Poughkeepsie, NY, sisters Maureen Karl of Ridge, NY and Elizabeth Driscoll of Staten Island, NY. Agnes is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored, Jamie, Michael, Sean Fitzmaurice; Kelsey, Matthew Butkiewicz and Wil Fitzmaurice.
Agnes was predeceased by her daughter, Suzanne E. Fitzmaurice and her sister Alice Eden.
Calling hours will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
The funeral mass will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Martin dePorres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
